BREAKING NEWS: Stocks Surge as Traders Cheer Europe Deal; Dow Soars 260

Wall Street kicked off the session with big gains, knocking the Dow above the 12000 mark, after European leaders revealed steps aimed at quelling the two-year-old sovereign debt crisis. Minutes after the opening bell, the Dow leaped 260 points and the broad S&P 500 jumped 2.6%. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.293% from 2.21%.
