BREAKING NEWS: Stocks Unshaken After Quake, Dow Rallies 322

Despite a midday earthquake felt on much of the East Coast, the major market averages closed with robust gains Tuesday. The Nasdaq Composite led the way, surging 4.3%, while the S&P 500 added 3.4% and the Dow surged 322 points, or 3%, to 11176. The gains came despite more downbeat news on the housing front, where new homes sales fell by 0.7% in July.
