BREAKING NEWS: Stocks Close Out Volatile Week in Strong Fashion, Dow Gains 186

The EU is still standing and the bulls on Wall Street rode that to sizable gains to close out the week. While the European summit ended with an agreement to impose tougher budget rules on its member countries, it was far from a cure-all and worries will no doubt persist about the health of the euro and the eurozone in the weeks ahead. The Dow gained 186 points, or 1.6%, to 12184 and the Nasdaq Composite added nearly 2%. Treasury yields rose.
